      Lost Vision & Lacking Corporate Strategy.

      Pros

      A person with little skills can settle in and collect a paycheck for ever with little to no responsibility. Just don't make waves and you can be promoted to your own level of incompetence.

      Cons

      Increased levels of management protecting senior management. Management is afraid to make cuts where they know they are needed. Why continue to make the same mistakes? Quit allowing acquired companies manage their own destiny. As a major multi national company Weatherford needs to build on the acquisitions and force them to become part of the corporations, rather than create fiefdoms.

      Political Games More Important than Actual Success

      Pros

      - Locations have strong cohesion among employees in the same business unit (as long as you're not in a downtown location) - Good benefit plan that is active immediately on hire - High safety standards - Chances for advancement and/or access to additional education or certifications

      Cons

      - Narrowsighted layoffs show that company does not do enough analytic studies on its business divisions and would rather tell all divisions to layoff a set percentage of their workforce. - Low cohesion between business units - Red tape and hoops to jump through everywhere you go
