When I first started at Weatherford, it was very noticeable that the company relied a lot on nimble teams, although they kept announcing successful earnings quarter to quarter. As the years went by, I experienced burnout, but I still thoroughly worked my best as the work/life balance culture was impeccable.
Unfortunately, in the last year, it has gone extremely downhill. There was a townhall in 2024 where the CEO said "if you're working remote, why not just outsource your job with someone in India?". Come January 2025, the corporate office released an immediate policy that you must be in a specific employee band and above to have an office, causing half of some departments to get kicked out of their offices and be moved to cubicles on the other side of the floor (away from their team) due to space issues. Next, there was an abrupt 2-day business notice that all employees must report to the office 5 days a week effective immediately. As a strong performing employee and one that has always been a team player, I have never felt so demoralized by a company and especially so directly by the CEO and executive leadership.
