Pros

Good launching point for a career in the Oil and Gas industry but will need to switch companies if you have any ambition. Wft almost never lays off anyone, very seldom will Wft cull the heard of the dead weight, which leaves mediocre employees with no career plan to hibernate their lives away in an office for 20 years without advancement, this is also a big CON depending on your vantage point.

Cons

To much focus on external growth instead on internal efficiencies, 1980’s business modeling and poor management treatment of employees; bonus are just rumors (and only the very top managers in the inner circle get them) so don’t count on anything other than your paycheck, which will be on the lower side of market rate. Poor training, often thrown to the wolves’ to figure your job out based on job description hired for. CEU's are nonexistent so save your money to keep your own certifications current.

Pros

Free parking, no shortage of work, opportunities for training and education, fairly inexpensive benefits, lots of smart, motivated, and talented employees (non-managers)

Cons

Employee turnover very high, managers seem to be given cart-blanche to behave badly, treat employees poorly, and be generally incompetent. Yelling, threatening, cursing, lying, and throwing things at staff went unaddressed despite reports to HR and that the behavior was well known between several locations.

Pros

- Lots of exposure to SOX - Lots of travel to decent places - Competitive salaries - Larger company with room to move outside of audit. - Current IA Management has a plan to improve the work environment and efficiency of the group

Cons

- Company has little vision or direction - Comprised of many different businesses operating independently (little or no coordination or information sharing) - Senior Managers present roadblocks to initiatives for improvement presented by employees - Too many levels of management; Dir, Associate Dir, Senior Managers, Managers - Managers do not provide a fostering mentoring environment - Only SOX - SOX testing can be completed more efficiently - Current SOX reviews provide little value to the organization other than to "check the box" - No dedicated IT Audit function yet WFT operates numerous ERPs in an extremely complex network. - Only two weeks of vacation (industry standard is three) - Not very flexible with work hours (No 9X80s, no working from home, etc.)
