Cons

No opportunity for career growth, nepotism is rampant, in down-turns the job and culture turn extremely toxic.

Opportunity to refine the knowledge in Geology fields with hands on experience in Shale and Offshore fields from 2010 to 2014.

Cons

Lack of professional management that did not lead to better advancement and training. Highly unstable O&G Service Company that will force employees to quit or fire at first sign of instability of the market. Hiring a lot of people from abroad with working Visa contracts keeping them on the job and firing the domestic employees.

Decent pay (if you can keep your job) If you are exec level they seem to be hiring a lot.

Cons

Morale is LOW. Multiple layoffs per year for 5 years. Only people left are looking for job or have made their choice to sink with the boat. Anyone left with a job that could be off-shored will be next.
