Family owned, they promote family values almost as much as they promote family members. Its all about who you know in this company (family, friends of family, friends of friends of family). Definitely not a meritocracy at this company. Very difficult to achieve corporate goals and competitiveness under these conditions. Not a good place to work if you're not part of the family and friends network. Too many management layers for such a small company (under 50 employees, yet vp's and directors for all depts)

The company is Management heavy, there are too many managers when there is no business coming into the company. The communication within the Management team needs work; they do not talk to each other, which makes it very stressful for the employees. Favorites are also played at this business. Many people are held higher because of who they know in the company, at this company, it really is all about who you know. If you are not on their list, working at Greenpoint is very difficult. Senior Management constantly makes promise after promise to the employees, but unfortunately never delivers on their promises.
