Pros

None. It's all about destroying what made Con-way a great place to work, to rebranding its assets as fast and furiously so Brad Jacobs can sell it off and leave a wake of destruction and ruined lives in his greedy path.

Cons

If you enjoy working your rear off with no clear direction, conflicting management (e.g. the one who screams the loudest), fearing the dreaded weekly Friday lay-offs without notice, being humiliated, lack of life/work balance, being on-call 25/7, then this is the place for you.

XPO is NO CONWAY or MENLO

Pros

I still have a job after the merger... but only until next year. I did get a pay increase this year. I still have the same early hours and I can work from home.

Cons

They are dismantling the Portland Campus department by department until there is no one left. Since the merger with XPO, there is bad morale, every week more people are let go, no one knows who is next. I happen to be lucky enough to be in a group where they told us this past fall we would be losing our jobs in 2017. Rumor has it, they are now taking away the guaranteed of 13 weeks severance pay. Not sure about that but it would not surprise me.XPO is cheap. They have no regard for any long term employees who used to be part of Menlo or Con-way. We are all throwaways to the new management. The benefits package is not good, they took away 2 holidays that we have had for over 20 years. They have made all of the changes so complicated you can barely understand what is going on. Do not work on the PDX Campus, you will just be laid off in 6 months or a year or two. This is a sinking ship for the Portland Office and everyone still working here knows it. I could go on and on... just be warned, if you think you are guaranteed a job here... think again new hires... not a long term safe place to work.

Pros

There's lots of opportunity to build up your resume and move on due to the massive exodus of talent. Can be an easy job for some, as leadership are more invested in power plays and Machiavellian schemes to notice under-performers.

Cons

The culture praises greed, but workers are not viewed or treated as people. Recent benefit cuts and 'fees' taken against salary have hit drivers especially hard. I've never worked at an organization so void of integrity. Read up on Brad Jacob's prior companies to get an understanding of the gut & cut' approach being applied here.
