Transit-friendly commute – Texcan is 2 bus stops away from Scott Road Station. You can take any of 3-4 different buses from the station. Potential for growth – You can grow in the job, move to another function at the same Texcan branch or another branch in a different city, apply internally to work at Sonepar (parent company) or apply internally to work for another operating company within the Sonepar family. The cable industry itself is also growing with demand for cable in greenhouses, data centers, electric car charging stations, mining, etc. Stability – The company has been around for about 40 years in a mature industry that is *almost* recession-proof. Benefits: extended health and RRSP matching – Benefits are generous and there is flexibility. If you need more coverage in one area (ie. Dental) but less in another area (ie. Health), you can set up a plan that works for you. For RRSP matching, it’s a pretty generous program compared to ones I’ve had in the past. Interesting work – This will vary from person to person, of course, but I find my day-to-day work interesting.
