Pros

Starbucks offers many benefits for part time employees including, healthcare and the option to purchase sbux stock at a discounted price deducted via pre tax. There is a good culture there for a quick service restaurant and many times employees become friends. You get a discount on starbucks items as a barista and you get free drinks on your shift. You are generally treated fairly and they encourage partners to learn about coffee, sustainability and offer perks to those who make the effort to learn more about their products and the coffee industry as a whole.

Cons

Unpredictable hours, minimal room for career advancements

Pros

Being a barista is a good job when you're young and need to pay your rent. I enjoyed the staff I worked with and most of the customers. My customer service skills improved tremendously while working there.

Cons

It is very hard to get time off. I ended up having to quit when I need to take a few days off for a personal matter. I gave the manager plenty of notice, but I was informed that that was not an option. The personal matter ended up being more important than the job.
