Pros

Coffee affinciondo and I love working with coffee addicts! As well, the training process is excellent...though sometimes the standards of baristahood are compromised when it is busy. I also love the repeat customers that come in every day who enjoy "their" Starbucks store. Some will share the most interesting personal things about themsleves. Very funny.

Cons

EARLY mornings and cleaning floors...but it comes with the territory. I also would expect to have more hours as a part time employee...even though benefits are good, it would be helpful to have more regularly scheduled hours. Last, I smell like coffee when I leave.

Pros

Benefits are good, some managers are cool about working with your school schedule.

Cons

Some managers are complete idiots that totally play favorites. Most district managers just come in and yell at you about what you're doing wrong. And they hire DMs without making them be baristas first. I got hired 2 years ago yesterday. There's a DM that was hired a month after me AS A DM. It's just stupid. Oh, and they hire stupid little teenage girls that cause more drama than any other job I've ever had.

Pros

If you love coffee, they offer decent training (depending on your Manager) and flexible scheduling. If you are a student or single parent, the benefits (available even for part-timers) are an added benefit. Most of the people working with you are very helpful and friendly.

Cons

Customers can be rude and condescending, food service industry work can be demeaning. Some stores are open 24 hours, so you may work late night / overnight or early morning shifts. Health benefits are not that great (most have capped pay outs). Wearing the "green apron" and SBUX baseball cap is supposed to be something of pride, but most find it demeaning.
