Pros

Free coffee - what else?

Cons

It's like being in the greek system and heaven help you if you don't have the clothes to work there. This company grew way too quickly, and had, when I was there, way, way, way too many managers of one person. It was staggering to watch the amount of time spent talking about social awareness, but see how clueless these same people could be interpersonally. The hiring bar was low and focused more on soft skills vs. execution. A pervasive attitude of working towards the greater good was suffocating there, and they actually believed that they were helping the poor coffee farmers they bought from. Not to mention the huge blinders when it came to the "Starbuckization" of coffee culture, which they claim to carry a torch for.

Pros

Great team environment. Great structure. Comprehensive training in all aspects of the job. Great support system by managment and plenty of opportunity for patners that wish to succeed in their carreer. the motto is to set your partner up for success. full health benefites for part time employees is a major plus along with Dental and vision. Great benefits.

Cons

physical labor, demanding hours. odd work schedule. no job security. lack of understanding with personal life issues. You semll like coffee at the end of every shift and come to a point where it's difficult to enjoy a good cup of coffee.

Pros

Starbuck's offers a decent health care package to it's employees that meet the required 240 hours per quarter, but the best benefit is the free drinks while you work! I can't imagine arriving at any other job at 4 in the morning without coffee.

Cons

In my experience, management has been slow to differentiate those that do a great job and those that do not. Hard work sometimes goes unrecognized and management always focuses on what behaviors need to be changed.
