Pros

You get a pound of coffee free every week, as many beverages as you want on your shift. Free stock options after a full year of service

Cons

If store manager you are given a minimal amount of labor to staff and minimal amount of off the floor hours to manage the store, in most cases you must work over 40 hours to manage a store

Pros

flexible hours (good for part time work), great employer to have on resume to demonstrate customer service/interpersonal skills, tuition reimbursement (I got $500 reimbursement for a marine biology course!), job expectations are clear (if you ever have a question about policy, the answer will be in a manual you can read)

Cons

promotion happens much faster for external hires than internal hires, can be difficult to get references from management when applying for new jobs (company liability), store managers play a major role in setting the work environment/team morale and have high turnover
