Pros

Work-life balance is great, with hardly anyone working past 5pm. Management gives you free reign to handle your own business, so no micro-managing. The office culture is young and laid-back, most people dress semi-business casual, and everyone is generally positive and friendly. Oracle also looks good on a resume.

Cons

Management has little to no formal management training and it is pretty obvious. The "self-service" nature of Oracle is really just an excuse to provide no training or guidance when you first start. On-boarding is a major company weakness. There is a quite a bit of downtime in the role, and most recommendations are to use this time to train yourself on product knowledge. A lot of your success will depend on which sales team you support and how well you get along with the sales manager. There is no accountability, so no one checks to see if you have learned something correctly. This causes misinformation to commonly be passed around the organization for extended periods of time. It often feels like no one really knows what's going on or what any of the products do, and commonly push back on your questions. Whenever there is an actual problem, it becomes very apparent who actually knows their stuff and who has just been faking it. Bonuses are tied to unreachable goals and we've recently only received 60%-70% of our annual bonuses. Also, in the first year, your bonus ramps up (only eligible for 25% in first quarter, 50% second quarter, etc...). No one will tell you this and it's not in writing. Compensation plans have been incorrect two years in a row, however, you're forced to sign the incorrect document so that you get paid while finance fixes the issues. Every year, it felt shady signing an incorrect, legally-binding document around my pay.

Pros

- Good benefits (i.e. healthcare plans) - Manageable and flexible work-life balance - Young sales workforce

Cons

- From direct managers to upper management, the company struggles immensely in creating a cohesive, motivated and successful salesforce. While many SDRs graduated from top schools and are ambitious, smart and hardworking, the credentials and work experience of management and senior sales representatives are not particularly impressive. Mediocre leadership skills and poor decision-making are the norm among management, which negatively affects the performance of subordinates. The company and its senior employees have little to no regard for the well-being and professional fulfillment of its employees, so any attempt from below to reform the status quo and improve processes will be immediately shut down. - While Oracle is widely regarded as a "dinosaur" in the tech industry, the incompetence of the company's management fosters a strange work environment in which professionalism and ethical behavior are not valued. Questionable work practices, along with sexist, homophobic, racist and other offensive remarks, are commonplace, and employees rarely report transgressions to HR because they often feel as though such issues are not addressed adequately. In terms of work culture, Oracle somehow prides itself in lagging behind other tech companies and for retaining a traditional, "old-school" environment where young, progressive-minded individuals will often find themselves at odds with an antiquated and uninspiring work culture. The company doesn't care whether you crave for an intellectually-stimulating, collaborative and inspiring workplace; it's all about the numbers and achieving sales quotas, nothing more. - Lastly, this is an incredibly boring and unfulfilling job. As an SDR, you will be expected to make cold calls, build spreadsheets with hundreds of contacts, and send e-mails all day long. Save for the occasional sales meetings in which your only responsibility is to introduce your sales team to the customer, your day-to-day activities will remain unchanged for the duration of your tenure. This monotonous and unfulfilling routine is mentally (and emotionally) taxing, especially for those who are recruited from top schools. That hard-earned diploma from your elite university will feel like a waste while working here.

Pros

A lot of people have been fired this is a GREAT thing because they were all happy to sit around not building pipe but spending up on corporate credit card getting fully paid travel to Singapore and getting drunk. they were happy to spend uncle Larrys money!!! but then come back and party up and not build pipe, not make a single call and just hoping they make money. Best thing oracle has done is get rid of the low hanging fruit, the lazy people who think they don't have to work because they are oracle. You have six months probation that means. Show us what you got and all they showed not a damn thing so they got the sack!!!! Thank you oracle for king room for people who want to be here and want to sell something. The products are good and we use our own products! Shows how uneducated people who come here and have left are if you make the most of our Time here you will be able to make the connections to who is who and what products we use that we sell and all the training available to you but sit down as be lazy and you will quickly realise you don't belong! Wake up to yourselves little kids this isn't the real world!!! Work life balance working from home is the best thing! The corporate health care is amazeballs. I paid $7 gap for chiro appointment ! We got it good but yeah we gotta work for it if you think you can come here and do nothin but get paid for it Oracle is not the place for you.

Cons

Too many young free loading kids with no sales experience being hired in ODP who are lazy and expect the world but do nothin for it!
