Pros

Good compensation, benefits, vacation; don't demand more than 40 hours very often; mostly nice and competent co-workers. Immediate manager was good, but the management above him was terrible.

Cons

Technical decisions made by clueless business non-technical people, resulting in tens of millions of dollars and time lost on poorly managed projects that would've never started if they had listened to the technical people. These wasted projects were not isolated incidents, I saw 3 in the 4+ years I was there. Also the mid to upper managers are useless and the bureaucracy is stifling. The development technology is outdated and the infrastructure red tape is mind boggling.

Pros

As they like to tell their employees, It's a job in bad unstable market. The paychecks are regular. The staff is very friendly and welcomes new employees.

Cons

Everyone is completely overwhelmed with work. Overtime is expected, the more hours put in, the more hours they expect. They talk of balance of work and personal life, they just don't respect the boundaries. The attitude is always, work harder and longer for less. The benefit package is terrible. They only offer one medical plan, their's. There is no choice. They don't even offer an HMO plan. The prescription drug plan offering is as bad. Changes are made with little or no notice. Liberty treats their employees as a liability rather than an asset to the company. Liberty does not treat their employees with respect.

Pros

Location was convenient and it used to be a very good place to work, both challenging professionally and also rewarding. Projects were challenging and good work was appreciated / rewarded.

Cons

Dis-organization, especially in IT which is based in southern-NH. Horrendous leadership and absolutely no repsect for employees there. They know people don't want to leave because of location and leaving means having to commute to Boston-area, so they realize they have people hostage. The last 4 years have been a very sudden down-slide and it has impacted morale as well as productivity.
