Pros

Global reach and a nice logo dominated by plant hire and subcontractor bias. Have credibility on national stage although Laing O'Rourke Midlands was technically insolvent when I was there.

Cons

Focusing on profitability of plant hire and sub/trade contractors reduced margins to zero or below on main contracts due to unrealistic promises made to clients when contracts were won.

Pros

Lots of development schemes for young people Helpful managers willing to teach Innovating ideas and motives

Cons

Treats on site labour a bit poor. Subcontractors get away with too much to keep them happy.
