Pros
The work is interesting Very flexible about times and locations - I work remotely 100% of the time now Good people - intelligent, thoughtful, flexible Almost no bureaucracy or weird or depressing rules - feels like a stable startup Great pay Received a substantial (and unexpected) bonus when a specific major project completed. (It was specific to that project, and may not occur again.)
Cons
You need to be somewhat self driven You need to keep learning and adapting and adjusting as software and tools and teams adjust Blindly doing what you have done before is impossible (For me these are actually pros. For some people they might be cons.)
