Pros

Reasonably safe in the long term.

Cons

HPC. Dreadful experience that got worse exponentially year on year. Negative, toxic, unsupportive and claiming to be the opposite is the hallmark of my time there. The gradual erosion of autonomy, an aloof and disconnected senior management that repeatedly claimed to be 'floor walkers', the use of ludicrous HR policy, and the use of HR personnel as a buttress to career advancement, the contempt for contractors and the penny pinching of staff benefits (one week paid paternity) whilst the entire project unravels was simply appalling. I've never been in a business with a bigger disconnect in between what it says, and what it does. A dangerous place to work for your mental health and your morale.

Pros

Some good teams to work with, that’s about it.

Cons

Poor management no qualifications or experience, bullying culture, no training or development, obsessive reliance on external consultants, little care for staff, how long you’ve worked there far out ranks what skills and experience you can bring to the job, management can’t take responsibility for their own actions. Passive aggressive culture.

Pros

Well paid across the board.

Cons

Staff are treated appallingly. HR do not act on behalf of the worker or the Manager, they simply exist to try and limit a meritocracy and foster a private members club. You are expected to give up your life for the project. Hard work is calculated in the number of hours that you devote to the project. Line Managers are vindictive, back-stabbers with zero compassion for their workforce.
