      Could be a great place to work, if they took stock of their human capital

      Pros

      They definitely acknowledge that their biggest talent is their people.

      Cons

      Unfortunately they don't always know who they have working for them or the skills that they bring to the table. Therefore, once you get a job, you have to do the same thing to get work - network, interview, etc

      Pros

      If you like consulting in general, Deloitte is great. Work/life balance is good. Client opportunities are good. Big emphasis on the idea that a good employee is more than just client contributions. You are responsible for your career and your promotion. Company events are always top notch.

      Cons

      The pay scale is pathetic by market standards. Most other downsides are those of consulting in general: long hours, difficult clients.

      Pros

      The people are the number 1 reason to work at Deloitte. My colleagues are some of the most intelligent, hard-working, ethical people that I know. Though the travel schedule is relentless, there is an enormous amount of flexibility. The extensive resources of a large firm are unmatched in the industry and are invaluable in supporting staff to deliver excellent service to our clients.

      Cons

      Most consulting roles are 80-100% travel. This job is not for anyone that doesn't like to travel, fly, drive, stay in hotels, and eat out morning, noon and night. Working for Deloitte is also not for anyone that just wants to do their job and go home. Client service is just part of the equation to be successful. Office contributions, eminence development, and staff development are all part of the equation.
