Negative and Bias

Pros

Making a needed product, some coworkers

Cons

Very negative atmosphere. My experience saw was a manager who made up lies about me and exaggerated the truth because they did not like me. They refused to give me the training I needed, insisted that I read over 150 documents and figure it out for myself, then got mad when I would make what they thought was a mistake. (Most of the time it was just me doing it in a different way, not a wrong way, than what they thought it should be even though there were no written procedures specifying their opinion of how it should be done.) My manager was also very bias and refused to give me the accommodations that were approved by the company for a health issue I had. This person talked down to me and all but called me stupid to my face because I didn't know how to do some things they refused to train me on. The company also turned a blind eye to destroying original data and pencil-whipping documents.

Pros

Many great people to work with. Plenty of parking.

Cons

Management is not discreet about who their "favorites" are and you almost have to be a "favorite" to be promoted. Compensation is not commensurate with duties/job description and people are very often given the duties of a senior level position but they are not afforded the tille nor the pay. BD has a Work From Home policy, however CareFusion will not allow it in most departments...unless you are a "favorite".

Pros

Working hours: Most of the upper management are located in other states. No daily micro management and flexible working hours.

Cons

Benefits: There are no company matching contributions. Working Environment / culture: People come in at 1030am (every other day) and leave on time or 10 minutes after 5pm (right after some directors leave). People take long lunches that are more than 2 hours (not just on Friday). No one is interested to get to know each other. This creates a VERY QUIET working environment. Upper Management: The upper management of the department is located in Chicago. The whole department is run by a short young kid, known as Rumpelstiltskin. He tries very hard to keep his position - a once in his life time chance. He hires as many 'army' as he can to show to the board of directors that he is an important asset. These people become his shield when layoffs come. I.E. They get lay off first before anything gets to him. Career Opportunities: I have been working here for almost 4 years and there are no career advancements provided to me. I am required to write procedures and training materials to teach the new, unqualified employees.
