The Moneyis no longer worth it. The ridiculous work-life balance destroying 10-10 shifts are comparitively poorly paid with other local pharmaceutical companies paying more money for more sociable hours.
It was a good job ruined by lower level management hellbent on being the boss. Just ask yourself, would you want to work harder for the person whipping you with a big management stick?
There are too many 'managers' and too few workers. The plant i was at was so top heavy it was unbelievable. The factory ops have huge demands and unrealistic targets meaning shortcuts have to be done to hit the targets. Way too many middle managers only out for their careers and the human touch has been completely lost with HR now becoming a apathetic robot with a no entry sign on the door. Its shocking how low the site has sunk over the last year and i will be very surprised if its still there in 5 years time.
Its total chaos, dis-organisation, and corner cutting. Procedures are only followed when its convenient for team leaders/productivity.
As for progression? If you're at the bottom, then forget it! Unless you enjoy the scent of Eau De Backside, then there is no chance of developing your skills or being considered for progression.
Such a shame as they have some really talented people who dont get recognised because they dont say yes to every gmp mocking request.
The new culture of outsourcing has plunged the company into further chaos and job insecurity and even left entire countries not being paid their salaries.
The whole site, processes, and culture has gone backwards and apart from new products/aquisistions, doesn't understand the meaning of moving forward.
Training, which for a pharmaceutical GMP controlled environment, is absolutely critical, is non-existent. Any new procedures are rolled out by sending a pile of documents down to the operatives, to somehow find time to read through (which would take hours to read and digest properly), and then sign. Many are irrelevant to the operator and the (non-existent) training department (a guy who simply admins the training records) seem to take the attitude that everyone is trained on everything even if they have never actually worked on it.
Overall its gone from a brilliant place to work, to a place where almost half of the workforce want to leave, within a year!
