      Great Company Overall, Although Lots of Politics

      Pros

      The company's mission and overall direction is solid, with senior leadership well-aligned on where they're headed. Overall pay and benefits are competitive. Lots of "Town Hall" meetings to widely communicate information at multiple levels to all employees. Strong positive culture and values.

      Cons

      There's a fair amount of politics, fueled in part by their large acquisitions of CareFusion and now BARD, as certain leaders jockey hard to advance their careers. This is particularly true in BD's Franklin Lakes, NJ headquarters. So if you're considering working for BD -- overall a great company -- just be sure the person you'll be reporting to is more focused on doing the right things for healthcare and patients than advancing their own personal career aspirations.

      Pros

      Used to be a great company. After acquiring Carefusion, they laid off many people, and outsourced many jobs to offshore. This is in IT department. May not apply to other departments.

      Cons

      Bad Management, Communicatio Gap.
