Abbott has generous benefits and a good work / life balance. Once you're "in" it's hard to be pushed out. Lots of opportunity for international travel (if that's your thing).

Cons

Little movement at the director + level since Sr leadership stay in same roles for a long time. People get comfortable and stop pushing for their best. Most IP has been outsourced so Abbott works more like a large contracting or VAR company.

- Good Company name - looks good on resume. - Good variability of experiences - management welcomes rotations through the company.

Cons

-Very political. Everything is based on getting an advocate for yourself and networking excessively. -Your experience will depend on your manager, but that is pretty standard. -Rather conservative culture
