No work/life balance with no respect from management
Pros
•Money in exchange for work
Cons
•Forced to work every weekend for months on end, and sometimes have your union designated "contract weekend" ripped out from under you, without your consent •Expected to work 12+ hour days, but heaven forbid if you happen to be 3 minutes late (not an exaggeration), they will waste far more company time talking to you about those 3 minutes (which may include discipline of suspension) while failing to acknowledge or give you credit for all the extra hours they are constantly forcing you to work. •Force employees to break union rules by overloading their schedule, disallowing for breaks required by law. •Unrealistic expectations: Your allotted time for any given job starts counting down before you even arrive at the job location, regardless of your distance. For instance: They expect a repair to be done in 45 minutes, but if they send you on a job 20 minutes away, by the time you arrive at the job you actually only have 25 minutes to complete the job before it hurts your productivity numbers. •Low starting pay for such a physically demanding job with such high expectations •The company as a whole refuses to make necessary updates to infrastructure, putting the burden on technicians to make up for the company's out of date materials. •Customers have little to no respect for you, even though you are the one there to help them. You are always the enemy.
