Pros

Chartis provides good benefits. You start with three weeks vacation and health benefits. Chartis is a leader in the insurance industry and has the resources to provide excellent, current training.

Cons

There is no work/life balance. You are only provided negative feedback.. You are not given positive feedback. Public perception of the company is very low, which hurt employee job morale and made completing a job very, very difficult. The public is fully aware the name Chartis was a marketing ploy to disassociate from AIG. Management favored individuals who did not perform and were difficult on those who did based on favortism or lack thereof. You are not encouraged to develop relationship with peers. There is no work culture with this company.

Pros

More to learn here than anywhere else - tons of human resources to look to - if you can establish that you know what you are doing you will be left alone to do it. Great co-workers - constantly meeting former employees who have moved on but still miss the the environment here.

Cons

You will earn a decent salary, but it is unlikely you will get rich here unless you are in the very top echelon. Also, it is annoying to still occasionally here AIG jokes and to have to put up with petty, pot shots from competitors (including people at competitors who used to be here and left because it was clear they were getting promoted as they thought they should be - even if it was clear to everyone else why they were not rising in the ranks).
