I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BlackRock (Atlanta, GA) in Jul 2019
Interview
I applied online and received a hackerrank coding challenge and scheduled for an on-site interview at Atlanta. On the day of the interview, the building was a WeWork co-working space and they have not provided for parking fee which was quite much. Since they don't own the building there were no basic facilities provided or at least easily available like a mineral water bottle. The total interview was about 3-4 hours long with 3 technical rounds. Interviewers were nice but there was not adequate break between each round.
For on technical round interviewer come up with his/her laptop and took 10 minutes to set up and then asked to finish the challenge in remaining time for that hour and it was a bad experience. Since I was expecting a workstation with readily setup development environment for a challenge. After completion of all-round lunch was served with a presentation about Blackrock, just after that final decision was conveyed which is really good that they didn't make us wait long. After I received the decision asked for just feedback on an interview for learning and development purpose a couple of times but seems to me they don't care/respect candidates enough to reply even after I followed up.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
*Difference between ArrayList and LinkedList and related questions
*What is the one thing you did in your work experience which had conflicted opinions and you made your points and come up with the solution.
*What important decision you made in a job for the project?
* A coding challenge to be solved on an IDE with an interviewer.
I got a code assessment to solve. I did well and then moved to next step which is an invitation to interview event. I was surprised that they offered no reimbursement for travel. They expected me to travel from DC to Seattle and pay for the expenses myself!!! Ridiculous right! Of course, I refused. What kind of company expects applicants to pay around $1000 to get interviewed?
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at BlackRock (Philadelphia, PA) in Mar 2018
Interview
Did a 30 mins phone interview, a coding challenge, and 4 hours onsite. Got an email with "positive feedback" from recruiter two days later. And no heard back for another 3 weeks. Got another video interview invite 30 days later after onsite. Feel pretty good. Never heard anything back. I was applied for java developer role, one of the interviewers was from production support team, asked a bunch of on call related questions. During the interview, he kept checking his phone, very disorgnized.
