I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon (Boston, MA) in Dec 2025
Interview
One round of 1 hour phone screen, and a final loop consisting of four 1-hour rounds. Coding questions and a lot of LP questions are covered. It lasts around a month to finish the interview. Messy organization. Only one interviewer is from the team, while the rest of them are not. The questions asked covered a wide range of topics in NLP, and the coding is more like CS algorithmic thinking. The skills tested are totally different from what's mentioned on JD and the preparation materials sent by their HR

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Amazon
Interview
It starts with a phone interview, where they determine whether you are a potential candidate. They will go over your experience and ask probing questions about your experience and why you approached things a certain way. Next, it'll be an on-site/virtual interview with 5 Amazonians. Can be the same day or split over two days depending on availability.
It was an initial interview with another engineer who was the same level as me. I was asked two technical questions and two behavioral questions. The interview was on Chime. The interviewer was not from the team I was interviewing for.
