Shady contracts

Pros

Good hours . You work your 40 then go home most weeks

Cons

You do have to sign a perpetual non-disparage clause in the employment contract. In layman's terms this means you can't speak badly of XPO or any employee or management figure, whether or not your statement is true. Also, the contract you're forced to sign explicitly states you can't speak badly of XPO even if you are no longer employed For example, if you are promised a raise , xpo reneges, then you quit, then you write a facebook post about it, they can haul you to court. it doesn't matter if what you wrote was true. In a defamation case they would have to prove that the post wasn't true but in a breach of contract case pertaining to a non-disparage clause they only have to prove you wrote it and it casts them In a bad light. Also you have to sign a non-compete agreement stating you can't work in the same field for 6 months after after you quit/get fired (unless XPO releases you from this clause).

Field HR in LTL

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

The salary is decent Most of the people are great

Cons

Work life balance is nonexistent (this applies to ALL salaried positions AND the drivers as they are working 12 hours per day 5 days a week and also being asked to work on weekends) HR is so far behind the times. Just recently (within the last 2-3 years) started to build an actual HR team instead of “Personnel Supervisor” so the role is really just administrative. Has the culture of “the good ole boys”. If you don’t fit into their group you won’t get anywhere HORRIBLE or really nonexistent onboarding for new employees Corporate HR does not consult with field HR on process improvements or policy changes when it directly affects the field most. Extremely high turnover in supervisors, due to lack of proper training Stagnant culture, afraid to be a trail blazer in the industry No plan on how to attract and most importantly RETAIN drivers during this driver shortage. Roll out of new programs is poor Again this is all specific to the LTL business unit.
