Pros

WalMart is fairly easy to get hired into, and fairly difficult to get fired from, in my opinion. They are non-discriminatory, and do their due part in higher those who are challenged in some way. They do have profit sharing, company stock purchase and retirement benefits, as well as health and life coverage.

Cons

Once hired into WalMart, you are owned. You are encouraged to have open availability. Those who don't, may well not get the hours they need to support their income needs. Although allowance are made to hire the physically and mentally challenged, they are often placed in job areas that wind up hindering the performance of their co-workers. WalMart's health coverage is lacking in some major areas...most notably, mental health.

Pros

The pay (for no college degree or experience) and hours that fit my schedule. Job security, even in a bad economy they do well.

Cons

Although good pay for someone in their 20s in college, not so great compared to the 50-60k jobs college grads get. It is a big corporation and thus has the usual non sense such as lack of communication between those who make the rules and those who have to follow the rules.

Pros

The pay is typically good, benefits package meets industry standard. Grab the money, pay off your school loans, then get a real pharmacy job.

Cons

Ccommunication stucture itself adequate, but, no input or discussion allowed, often extremely short notice. Lack of understanding of pharmacy department, including regulatory matters, by local store management. You will not be allowed any original ideas, or time to implement anything in the community. Overall lack of respect.
