Pros

As far as training goes, they jump you in pretty quickly but I never felt unprepared. My management was pretty lax as long as all the work was done, so it wasn't a stressful situation most of the time (except when it was really busy, when it kicked in high gear) and coworkers could have a lot of fun together if they wanted to. It's not exactly a dream job, but it's cleaner and less stressful than most fast food jobs, and the drive through is actually pretty fun.

Cons

The salary sucks. Raises are rarely given out, and when they are, they're incremental. Closers can get stuck with a lot of cleaning and general hassle that no one else wanted to deal with. Still, they're supposed to have all their work done and be out of there when their hours dictate. They're almost always understaffed. They overestimate what one person can do in their shift when they're alone.

Pros

The best reason to work at Subway is the chance to interact not only with your co-workers, but customers. Fast food might get a bad rap most of the time, but Subway is unlike any place you've ever worked before. I have worked there for over four years and I started when I was 16. I've started as a sandwich artist and worked my way up to store manager. I recently accepted a job as assistant manager at a different store for more money. The money may not be terrific, but it's a fun starter job.

Cons

The cons are not all so terrible. The worst part is working with people who hate their job. And seeing as there is a lot of time to talk to your co-workers, there is lots of time for drama. It's like being in high school all over again.
