Pros

If you are looking for full time benefits for part time work

Cons

Senior management tends to communicate poorly, and the training has definitly taken a nose dive as of late. Its not just a coffee shop anymore.

Pros

Premium total pay benefits packages are great if you take advantage of them. Everytime I clock in I know I'm going to experience something new. I never know what to expect from my coworkers! They put the experience into the "Starbucks Experience." I am never thirsty while I'm at work.

Cons

The customers are dreadful. Regulars order their drinks wrong and throw tantrums when their drink is served the way they order it. Then they try to make you feel like dirt when you attempt to translate their orders, like a skinny extra extra coolwhip and extra sparkley rasbafreche' into something clearly offered on the menu.

Pros

Great brand -- Starbucks will survive the current recession and thrive when consumer confidence returns. Good people -- even though a good deal of talent has left the company in the last year, there are still smart committed people at Starbucks.

Cons

Sr Leadership is making confusing choices. Lot's of windy pronouncements have been made since Howard returned as CEO. Many of the directions and strategies introduced become diffuse and lost direction very quickly. Mediocre compensation Doesn't really support professional development Perhaps over-committed to CSR. It doesn't seem middle class consumers have stuck with Starbucks just because it's a 'good' company.
