      Pros

      At Philips, I have complete freedom to make important business decisions. This great amount of responsibility makes me feel as though I own my own business. It is a very flat organization, so I have a lot of interaction with top level management.

      Cons

      Not everyone at Philips shares my sense of urgency, and it can be frustrating to try to get things done in the Philips environment. We are very under-resourced, and I have to work far too many hours in order to keep my business going. Philips is a European company, and as a result, it is difficult to convince upper management to devote a reasonable amount of the global resource pool to projects for the US market. European-focused projects clearly take precedence.

      Pros

      Philips has a generally well respected reputation, and is viewed from outside as a top-tier international corporation. Sonicare has a very loyal following as a brand, and is a great product.

      Cons

      Philips is extremely bureaucratic as an organization. The old Philips adage "if you're not Dutch, you're not much" is essentially true. Mediocrity and incompetence is rewarded over high performance, and morale is generally dismal, especially within the Marketing department. Turnover within Marketing is high; people come in energized, but quickly become demotivated and leave.

      Pros

      Tuition reimbursement if this is something you are looking for, location if you live in Snoqualmie Valley, the products are incredible and something you can definitely stand behind.

      Cons

      The building is over 1/2 empty and I am sure they will be moving/relocating to Bothell, Auburn, Stamford, CT within a couple years at most. There is not a lot of energy in the building and a sense that the end is near. I don't think the pay is equivalent to similar positions in other companies. Philips loves people who are mobile, so be willing to move if you want to move up in the company.
