Pros

Decent pay, good benefits, and great work/life balance. Its a great place to hide if you don't like to work, want to be overpaid, or want to retire early while still receiving a paycheck. Basically like having a government job except the pay is better.

Cons

Bureaucratic, culture of inaction, incompetent leadership. The biggest downside is you have to pretend you are busy, which gets tiring after awhile.

Pros

Pfizer has historically been know as the "best" pharmaceutical comany in the world, and, if not the best, than the largest. In a market that is deeply saturated by large AND small pharma companies, it appeared that physicians, for the most part, had nothing but positive opinions of Pfizer. Many companies were not respected by physicians, so as a new representative, even if you had yet to devloped a relationship with them, sort of welcomed you in automatically because you worked for such a reputable company. Pfizer also provides wonderful benefits to its employees that are unmatched by any other.

Cons

It seemed that although the company encouraged a work/home life balance, in order to TRULY get ahead, people ended up saturating their personal lives with Pfizer matters. It seemed that the upwardly successful people were the Pfizer "lemmings" as I called them, people who breathed, ate, slept and talked Pfizer ALL of the time. I truly believe in working hard for the company, but I also believe that it is critical not to under-value one's home life, because that has a direct positive or negative effect on one's work life. Also, it seemed that sometimes, promotions were given based on WHO a candidate knew as opposed to his performance.
