Pros

+large community of researchers to learn from- someone always has the expertise you need to get something done + many researchers are open to mentoring & offering support to early career folks

Cons

- UXRs are heavily underpaid compared to other Design & research titles. You are better off interviewing at any other FAANG company. Good people are leaving the company because of this. This is unlike pay for other disciplines where Meta often competes aggressively with other firms. - Large company so it takes a lot of work to get noticed & get good work done

Pros

Teams are great to work with, extremely welcoming, willing to give up plenty of time when you start, forthcoming with information/tips/advice and the whole environment is super collaborative. Company is very data driven, which some might not like but I think it's great as you are able to track your performance easily without having a million separate spreadsheets. Loads of great perks in their compensation packages, but the role itself is amazing and I am so glad I joined.

Cons

Sourcing candidates is a tough gig, lots of time goes into scrolling through LinkedIn to find the right talent that hasn't been engaged recently. But if you're a good recruiter, this shouldn't be a problem.

Pros

- Pay is top of market - Coworkers are very smart - RSUs are very competitive and performed well in my time there

Cons

Extremely political, lots of people playing games to try and take credit for others work or push blame around. At review time, one person deciding they don't like you can claim that you hurt their feelings one time and based on anecdotal evidence alone kill your promo or lower your rating. You are constantly walking on egg shells Code quality tends to be poor. To be fair the product isn't exactly critical to the day to day operations of the world and FB being down for a few hours isn't going to kill anyone. Teams focus on getting products out as quickly as possible with little concern for quality or maintainability. There is no QA department and you will not be rewarded for taking extra time to make your project high quality
