Interesting work, plenty of opportunities to advance or change positions or even locations within the company.

Cons

Lots of unpaid overtime is expected at times. Frequent layoffs make morale somewhat sketchy sometimes.

Pros

I worked for Lockheed Martin for over 10 years. It was a great experience - learned a lot from some of the most talented people in the business. They had a very strong ethics program which set them apart from competitors and strong leadership. Really good work/life balance and salaries were generous.

Cons

Since it is such a large company, their overhead budgets (anything not charged directly to a contract) are fairly limited, but I think it keeps costs down so that new opportunities can be won. The facility I where I worked had a training center that allowed the workforce to take classes on their own time, so that was a benefit.
