Pros

Fair Pay, Decent Benefits, Lots of different things to work on.

Cons

Advancement opportunities go way down at mid level, ends up forcing older workers out. Leadership does not follow its own initiatives. Full Spectrum Leadership is how lower level employees are measured, yet senior and executive leaders do not follow it and even go the opposite. Large company, even great work can go unrecognized. Not enough bonus money to reward good work, only a handful of favorites garner incentive pay.

Pros

A large company with many opportunities. Current employees have the ability to apply for jobs all over the country and the world. Current employees are given preference for jobs over outside applicants.

Cons

Employee evaluations are not easy. LM has tried many methods of evaluating emloyees; and still have not seemed to "get it right". The cap on the number and types of ratings seems unfair.

Pros

Lockheed Martin Mission Services has flexible schedules and good management. I have been through three contract changes with NASA - Johnson Space Center. Sub-contractors are treated with equal respect.

Cons

Benefits are generally reduced with each contract bid, every 3 to 5 years. Pensions are now on the way out. It seems as though management just wants to make a buck. Each contract change involves, NASA farming out prime contractor employees to sub-contractors with reduce benefits without additional pay to compensate for increased medical premiums. Seems like a government game to check some compliance boxes - which is not a Lockheed Martin problem.
