Pros

When I first started working for LM they appreciated my talents. They were a great place to encourage career growth.

Cons

Too much restructuring, not much job security anymore. Insurance costs keep rising, not much room for growth, seems like the company is taking a different direction. Now they are freezing all transfers from our business unit in anticipation of the elimination of several contracts and many employees possibly being laid off in the coming months. Work life balance is non-existent. Expect you to work an extra 4-8 hours a week "just because" when sometimes there is no additional work to do that couldn't be done during the regular 40 work week and it is enforced more with some rather than others. Pay is not as competition as it used to be.

Pros

Loyal, hard working colleagues with some of the best minds in the industry. Professional collegiate atmosphere depending on area of the business and programme you are working on. Work / life balance is good with flex-time policies and a culture which acknowledges family commitments and the need to balance.

Cons

Company is struggling to remain competitive in a changing market. Transformation programmes are as slow to be implemented as one would expect from a huge Corporation; unfortunately this is translating into short term actions such as cost cutting in training, research & development and benefits. Salaries lag behind competitors and continue to fall in competitiveness.

Pros

Admin rights on my PCs

Cons

HLS, just like it's parent, IS&GS, is being abandoned by Lockheed Martin. I don't blame them !
