🚩 Toxic Culture Driven by Favouritism and Micromanagement

Cons
Unfortunately, the work culture is a huge red flag. The environment is highly political, with clear favouritism and partiality from higher management. There is a strong sense of micromanagement, and decisions often seem based on personal relationships rather than merit. It is not uncommon for friends of management to be hired directly into the team. Many managers lack adequate technical and process knowledge, making them unable to properly support or guide their teams. Instead of coaching or problem-solving, work is simply pushed down to accountants. When issues arise, there is little to no meaningful support because managers themselves are not equipped to handle the processes. The working environment is extremely rigid, with minimal flexibility despite heavy workloads. Office politics are very present, and there is a toxic culture of gossip, where colleagues talk behind each other’s backs. Psychological safety is lacking, and speaking up often feels risky. Overall, the culture feels controlling, unsupportive, and unhealthy for long-term growth or well-being.
