Pros

Looks good on CV. Overall as one of the Big 4 it helps open doors in industries. You can make good networks.

Cons

Choosing to work in KPMG is a downside. Everything is a big fat lie. The whole work like policy is a joke. Internal politicking is rife. Managers are ignorant buffoons who do not even know their heads from their behinds. Partners are worse. you have to fight for projects. Managers form their own dog groups and its hard to get out of a group and get projects. Internal transfers, assignments and rotations are hard to get by. All the stuff that is said in the HR presentations is just gimmick. The salary package is the worst. The lowest paid of all the big 4 and they try to compensate by showing the great added benefits. Pros

Great opportunity to enter the world of consulting. Each office is pretty small so you should be able to meet everyone and learn a lot relatively quickly. It's a good place to be young, single and ready to feel important because you'll be getting lots of emails and working lots of hours. The reward is that as hard as they work, they will party equally hard. Lots of singles and lots of "grey zones."

Cons

Least mature of the big four. The methodologies are very make-shift so that you may not get the right lesson in "fundamentals."

Pros

Great benefits and people are very nice. You get five weeks of vacation right off the bat! In my group, it usually not a problem to take the vacation as long as you put in on the calendar with enough notice so people can schedule accordingly. My performance manager is very candid and good about giving feedback. He's also great about making sure that I get the right experiences so that I can grown personally and professionally.

Cons

Scheduling on projects can be a bit erratic which may at times throw your social/personal life into upheaval. However, when coming into the industry you have to realize the nature of the beast you're getting yourself into. Client demands are a significant part of our business. Nonetheless, I usually find that I can make up the time when I'm in between projects or taking vacation.
