Pros

They will eventually fire you, but will call it a layoff. Yes...this is a pro. There are no other pros.

Cons

They will abuse you, lie to you. If you are exceptionally good at your job, your boss will be threatened, and will move mountains to find a way to get rid of you. This is particularly true in the Philadelphia and Delaware markets, but is commonly known throughout the entire organization. ***JCI will violate multiple federal and state employment laws in how they handle holding commission from 1 year to the next, and your commission is 100% ensured to be wrong - every month. If you take a vacation, expect your boss to send a colleague behind you to take over your accounts permanently while you are out of town. The same applies if they send you for training somewhere else in the country. You will be expected to violate both company policy and federal law by taking government employees on "wine and dine" excursions, then coached on how to expense them so that they look to be compliant.

Pros

Not applicable for Johnson controls

Cons

1) Micromanagement 2) No engineering infrastructure/tools to work.Very old technologies with zero learning opportunities. 3) Management is completely disconnected from what needs to be done for supporting projects in fields. 4) They have no idea about what skillsets are required for particular job. They hire just to fill the vacancy. 5) No product/project related training will be given. But Yes , during interviews they will blatantly lie about this. 6) Arrogant people in senior positions. They provide 0 supports for projects. 7) The management never looks for permanent solution for a problem. They always want temporary solution. 8) People are working there for 10-15 years but still they have no idea about what features exist in projects and what not. 9) They will always have some reasons/excuse ready for not providing information to you. 10) If you suggest them to use latest tools for work, they will not be happy with you. 12)No one cares whether the job is done or not. Some of the departments will not work until and unless you hold their hands and make them do your work. 13) They will treat you like football, from here to there, there to here and this will go on. 14) Management is aware of all these things but still they take no steps to improve this. My suggestion is better not to join here. Wait for 10-15 more days and try for some other companies. I am giving 1 star because there is no option for 0 star.

Pros

It's a solid company with a great reputation in its industries. For most, they pay decently well. Also it is nice being a remote work making it a very convenient job. Most of my hourly co-workers are fantastic to work with.

Cons

Its a very dog eat dog environment. They say on one hand how concerned they are about employee burnout and stress but then require we spend EVERY SINGLE MINUTE on the clock to be working on something regarding our job or in advance of our career at JCI. At every other company I've worked for since the early 80s this was not a problem. They all understood, especially when taking phone calls all day, we need a moment or two at times to lower stress. They also have an employee review system that really is not balance or helps the employee in anyway. Basically with your yearly review, how well you can write it is weighted much greater than the actual job you do. We were even given an example by our supervisor that if you have 2 employees who did the exact same quality & quantity of work, the one who writes their review better gets the better raise each year. This is ridiculous, the number one factor should be the quality & quantity of work NOT the employee's creative writing skills which has nothing to do with our actual jobs.
