Pros

good fringe benefits provided, decent compensation offer, sharp working time, not much OT, good promotion prospect, stable prospect. Highly recommended

Cons

I T is an extremely bureacratic banking firm, though with good prestige in the field, you can hardly get access to upper management without years of experience

Pros

- easy work, and easy to get time off - pay is pretty good

Cons

- they are actively trying to sell mortgage ops - the management has way too many layers and way too aloof - too many meetings - in terms of employees - most of the really good people have left because of the situation with the company

Pros

1) Work-life balance is probably the most distinct advantage that an HSBC job has over that of other banks 2) If you are bright, you will stand out - the general population in HSBC is not stellar 3) Global mobility is HUGE in this bank

Cons

1) If you are an accumulator and look upon your job as a way to build assets early in career, FORGET IT. They do not pay like other banks where analysts can potentially gross US$100K plus. 2) You will not be perceived at the brighest out there if you've spent a lot of time in HSBC like for instance you'd be considered if you spent 5-10 years at Morgan Stanley or Goldman Sachs
