Pros

You're almost constantly busy, there's always something to be done (which I prefer). Most locations have flexible scheduling, relaxed managers/shift leads & have room for growth within the company. It's fun, you learn a lot of random food facts working there. One free meal a day. At the store I worked, the crew became my second family. Great opportunity. Start at minimum wage, but if you have experience, sometimes you get a little more. It's not HARD work, it's just a lot of things that need done.

Cons

District & Regional management/Corporate is a little out of line. Salary positions required to work AT LEAST 50 hours/week, which is unreal for the "benefits" they receive. Work life balance for them is a no go. Corporate rules & "secret shop incentives" change a lot. Quarterly audits were annoying only because the in store management would lose their heads thinking they would lose their jobs if they got under a 97. They're ridiculous when it comes to labor percentages, which I understand, it's money, but you can't expect to keep an employee if you send them home hours early daily.

Pros

Good food and believe me, you will have at least 5 to 6 days off every week !

Cons

When they hired me, they never told me it was going to be a part time job, and even worse, they never told me it was going to be one or two shifts a week. One time, they scheduled me for only one shift in a week, and when I went to work (the day I was supposed to work) they simply told me "You are not in the schedule this week, you need to go home" .... so, after I was scheduled for only one shift they decided to take me out of the schedule without notice. So I was trying to complain, but who can you complain to when the person who took you out of the schedule is the area director or regional manager?? ... Did I ever got an apology from any manager ?? .. NO ! ...not even a comment ! I just see a very unprofessional management team who just care about their "labor cost" and don't care about their own people. Five Guys just don't care about their employees !!!!
