Pros

Company provides Training for phone support based on clients/contracts. Company will offer a job typically paying $10 per hour. If an employee manages to hang in there after a couple of years, they may work up to $12 per hour. It is a better paying alternative than getting paid minimum wage at a fast food or retail chain.

Cons

They typically pay less than other call centers in the South Florida area. Their Health Insurance Plan offered is an indemnity plan; meaning very limited benefits. Typically, the annual premium employees pay will barely cover the cost of medical benefits covered. The insurance plans offered from year to year steadily cover less and less for the same annual premium. When working the phones, paid holidays are offered, but only if the employee will work on that holiday. Management does get paid time off for holidays. This is one of the very few rewards for all of the hours management is expected to work otherwise. If you are management and have the misfortune of getting sick, your vacation time/hours will be decreased without notification to compensate for the time you were out. No consideration is taken for time worked from home while sick either. There is no consideration for the typical 50-60+ hour weeks worked. Internal advancement to becoming a supervisor and/or management means salary in leu of an hourly wage, very long hours and very little to no training for the position. If training is offered, it is usually by way of verbal communication from the next level of management. Often, that manager may not know any more than the new manager coming into the new position. Management is a sink or swim experience and can be riddled with office politics. Working at a call center means you must work when they need you, not when it works for you. If a recruiter or human resources tells you otherwise, they are not being truthful or are ignorant of the accounts needs. Depending on the account, you can unfortunately be placed under some very unprofessional, bullying people which will make your working life miserable and can result in getting you let go. Some accounts do have decent, hard working people who try to do the right thing, however they seem to have little influence. Teleperformance is big on trying to offer opportunity but the reality is quite different. My suggestion is to be happy with working on the phones while you are looking for a better job or saving enough money to get back in school.

Pros

My group of supervisors and our manager work really well together. The upside of this company is the ability to work from home and the support you are given is better than most places I have worked.

Cons

this can only be said for my project as we do not always have a clear path of what the upper management is looking for us to do

Pros

For the most part, I have an open availability. I do however, like not having to work on Sundays. Some campains allow for a 1 hour lunch break. The hiring process was fairly easy. Your equipment is provided. There is opportunity for advancement. They are helpful when it comes to license renewal. Calls are back to back which for me seems to make time go faster. Flexibly as to when you want to take your lunch break. You have to opportunity to assist people without having to feel it was rushed. Off all major holidays.

Cons

Rushed training that may leave some questions unanswered. I feel like I had to figure things out on my own. Getting the assistance you need to help a client took longer than it should, especially when the client is on on hold, waiting for your response. At times some trainers seem to be unprepared for the roll they have taken. Calls are frequently monitored. Not much time between calls. It can take too long to transition from on campain to the next after the project has ended.
