Pros
Genuinely talented and nice colleagues, the people make the day-to-day worthwhile. Competitive benefits package. The work itself is intellectually stimulating, especially if you're in a scientific or cross-functional role, with real exposure to global projects and international teams.
Cons
As an external employee (VIE, intern, freelance, contractor or apprentice), you quickly feel like a second-class worker. Sanofi has significantly reduced direct hiring, relying heavily on temporary contracts, VIEs, and internships — or offshoring roles to hubs in India and Hungary. The culture is highly political, and career progression is entirely manager-dependent: without their explicit support, internal mobility is nearly impossible and moving to another team or role within the company becomes a dead end. The recent tightening of hybrid work policies has visibly impacted morale, leaving many employees frustrated and disengaged.
