Pros

- Generous staff discount - Atmosphere in store was lovely - Made some great friends in the team - Products were really fun to demo - I loved doing consultations, particular on skincare

Cons

Extreme favouritism from upper management - our Trainee Manager was passed over for Store Manager role despite running our store well for 6 months by herself. Middle management in store showed favouritism - their friends were allowed to do no work with nothing said, while other, hardworking staff were held to different expectations. Barely any training for new supervisors - several staff in my store suffered with MH issues and I wasn't properly equipped to support them which led to severe issues with my own MH. No HR support - Staff member was verbally abusive to me and 2 other supervisors and escaped a disciplinary with no warning and no further action. Having to push sale of products on customers that weren't suitable for them purely to reduce wasteage.

Pros

Excellent inclusive company culture, employee discount, learning about natural ingredients for skincare, genuinely great and engaged team members, flexible work schedule for part time or casual positions.

Cons

High amount of work, unreasonable "evidence driven" feedback and coaching models, and unrealistic performance metrics for comically low pay, especially for floor coordinators. No additional pay given for specialty roles, which is many enhanced responsibilities over a specific area of the business, and little opportunity for career growth beyond the sales floor unless you are hired from an external management position. Floor Coordinator seems to be the highest rung most people can hit before being driven elsewhere.
