Everyone else from my training class is still there a year later, but it wasn't a match for me. - Lodging Partner Associate III Expedia Group Employee Review

Pros

None of the perks spoke to me

Cons

Training was less than adequate. They said by the end of 1 month of training, we'd know about 30% of the job, and I certainly felt that. One day they claimed we wouldn't be on the phones until another month of just handling tickets. The very next day they told us we were going on live phone calls. At shift bit, I was told there was 1 slot of Fri/Sat off, 10am - 7pm (the schedule I wanted) and several for Sun/Mon off, same hours. Not an hour later, management called me into a zoom meeting to apologize for their mistake, telling me the only opening was Sun/Mon off, a combination that does nothing for me. I should have walked out in that moment, but I lasted another few weeks.

Pros

Incredible benefits! Quality, affordable medical insurance, 401k, wellness reimbursement, travel reimbursement, plenty of PTO, etc. They have fresh food cooked daily for breakfast and lunch, available for purchase. They also have free food, such as yogurt cups, cheese sticks, and shelf-stable fruits available to all employees. The benefits keep many of us here. I will say, have had two supervisors so far, and they’ve each been great. Very understanding, yet motivating. I haven’t yet met a supervisor who didn’t value their supervisees.

Cons

The main digital platforms we use do not function efficiently, which makes a noticeable impact on our work. On a perfect day, you’ll still spend 8-12 minutes per hour waiting on load screens, but we have experienced days in which the sites were down for about 6 hours within an 8 hour day. I feel that our quarterly goals are not constructed with this in mind. Another major con is—like many places now—job security is an issue. AI is taking over the job of many employees, and while we’re told to embrace it, it’s difficult to do so when you could walk in any day and be told to pack your things.
