Pros

Many opportunities to get noticed if you are at a large and excellent operating plant.

Cons

Little to NO corporate guidance. Plant has had issues and the company decision is to get rid of plant rather than fix the issues. Company grew too fast to fill the shoes properly. Upper management is way over their heads to manage an organization this size.

Pros

Decent benefits in terms of health care and medical, and good employee stock benefits plan as well as a good 401K plan. Work is easy with no pressure to perform at all, almost a vacation on the job since there is no accountability regarding performance or any sort of guideline on how things are to be done. All groups are different, however the majority views adults as adults, and aren't clock watchers. If you get your work done, then no one really cares what time you arrive or leave or how many days a week you miss and working from home occasionally is allowed. Great vacation package and accruals and flexible working hours (varied hours and half days). Great work/life balance employer.

Cons

No internal training whatsoever. New employees must fend for themselves in learning the policies and procedures by finding them online and reading them. When new policies, procedures, developments, etc are rolled out, there is still no training. Usually the memo comes over email with a link to read and learn on your own. Poor internal communication among departments. Suez is the largest IPP on the globe, and yet they can't get their heads around implementing state of the art technology to make the company run more efficiently. Employees input their time in sophisticated time management software, however it is not used to its full potential and the company still uses Excel spreadsheets to calculate cross border time. Purchase orders are issued out of Word documents, and Excel spreadsheet templates. Company has sophisticated ERP system is place, however uses it only for accounting, and still uses Exel to cross map the GL of different groups.
