Pros

Good quality of pension scheme. Big emphasis on experiencing different parts of the business and developing broadly in your career. There are no apparent glass ceilings for any employees. The company and trade unions have a good working relationship which benefits employees.

Cons

The nature of work is very bureaucratic partly due to legislation.

Pros

A solid salary package with up to 28 days holiday per year, great pension benefits and company contributions to private health insurance for all levels of the corporation. Speaking from experience, there are great opportunities to progress internally if you have what it takes and can perform. There is a great culture and acceptance that every decision we make may not be the correct one but everything is done with the right intention in mind and there is a genuine customer focus. A great place to work.

Cons

Unfortunately, not all staff are committed to their role and there is definitely room for improvement in attitude of some individuals which the company actively works to change and improve. Very little else, I think all large companies can suffer with limited communication at times on certain topics and perhaps more direct comms from your managers would be better placed.

Pros

Pays very well with easy oppurtunities to rise in pay every year. There is stability in working hours and location. 25 days holiday, 8.30 to 4.30 weekdays exclusively, outage pays 3 times your normal pay for double the hours and is manditory. Atmosphere around plants is relaxed and cheerful. Willing to ensure they hold onto good candidates with good offers.

Cons

Bad experience that will lead to you unable to get a job elsewhere. No reason to actually do anything, as there are people everywhere who are useless at their jobs being given promotions, or telling you that they can't do the work that you require them to do, with no option to find someone else, as they are the only ones who are qualified. No back up system, no work ethic, no job satisfaction. Instant bubble feeling with everyone within the company completely ignorant of jobs outside of the plant. Limited possibilities to become chartered, and no one interested in helping. Forced to pack lunch or put up with the most expensive school type canteens, half hour break does not give time to get outside of the plant, and all base locations are in the middle of no where. Disconnected management structure interested only in pushing graphs to look good and not getting work done, complete disjoint in communication between departments.
