Pros

Good name to have on your CV, with a flat management structure means decisions can be quickly made, can be good pay (at the start of employment) and not bad benefits. More insulated from the downturn in commodities due to being part of a large group (EDF family).

Cons

Highly political as you would expect with a company owned by a group that is state owned (French). All about who you know and who you are mates with. With internal jobs being given to those with contacts in the right places. Lack of promotion and opportunity to develop, wages are static, staff don't move or leave and therefore there is a lack of opportunity.
