Pros

People are human. They don't expect you to be a machine. People here have been very honest with me and I have had aggressive intellectual debates with my seniors without repercussions. People here are more laidback than people at other firms. There are many development activities here too.

Cons

Not well respected on the Street. However, it is very respected in Europe. The IB outsourced research sucks. Sometimes, its easier to do stupid work yourself. Wish the MD had more contacts and got some more deals. Financial District is an ok place to work in but not a great place to live in.

Pros

Its a great place to work at. Brilliant minds all around you. If you join as an analyst, you go though an almost vertical learning curve. There is really tons to learn. So you have to be sure you are prepared for a career in finance. Every individual in the bank gets a lot of responsibility. Even as an analyst you work in a small team of 4-5 and become an expert in whatever task you have been entrusted with. Its a great place for personal development.

Cons

Cutthroat competition. You have to be at the top of your job. No room for error.
