Pros

Generally competitive salaries (hint: negotiate before being hired, they will not give merit raises), ability to gain varied experience if you are assertive.

Cons

No career track - There isn't much in the way of advancement for any group, Slow accrual of vacation - 2 wk/year until 5 years of service, Vacation is reset and you lose it if you don't use it, No merit raises (see above), Very high workload for everyone, High employee turnover, Frequent mass layoffs, bad overall company communication, each office acts as a separate company, outsourcing jobs to India

Pros

• Great benefits (better 401k and health benefits than my current employer) • Set hours • Down-to-earth staff

Cons

• No disclosure from management. I felt out of the loop on future direction of company and my career there • Unhealthy environment -- mold on ceiling tiles not addressed forthrightly or in a timely manner • Running all 3 shifts adds a sense of cattlecar to the office

Pros

If a law student, their law services operations are great for insight and extra curricular learning on the profession. Further, see some interesting court room scenarios.

Cons

Very boring and repetitive if involved in transcripts or monitoring, however some monitoring can involve different workplaces you will often be doing the same courthouse. Hours are very volatile, and the minimum 3 hour paid day gets forced on you often.
