      Can't get ahead if you are a man

      Pros

      Decent pay through a turbulent time in the economy and stable work, great advancement opportunities if you are a non black minority. Very LGBT friendly and happy to advance females.

      Cons

      Despite having high ratings and outperforming my coworkers, I can not progress in my career here. I have been held in a lower position because I am too essential to the position, but haven't had any real increases in pay (if you value me show me with pay). Cummins touts itself as being a great employer, but when you look around and do the comparatives you will soon see they aren't even offering competitive wages anymore. More and more benefits are being taken away to inflate the bottom line and keep investors happy.

      Pros

      Strong culture of respecting employees, a truly global company. Have worked for Cummins for more than 10 years and have enjoyed increasing responsibility roles .

      Cons

      On treatment of other investigations; the assumption is that the employees is guilty. There is very little opportunity to defend your position . If another employee has something against you; he can elaborate a case against you freely with no objective validation by HR. Also after a decision is made; the employee is treated like a criminal and career ruined for a long period of time US Locations are also not very appealing

      "Great Engines, Terrible Company"

      Pros

      Most jobs at Cummins can be enjoyable... you just have to find the one that is right for you. I truly enjoy my job. That said, the Cons outweigh the Pros.

      Cons

      Poor work/life balance - Company claims this is important, but they don't believe it. The Company is always #1... your family can come later. Pathetic compensation package - Both pay and health insurance are terrible VERY Political - It's like being in High School all over again; the popular "kids" will do very well, otherwise don't expect to make it very far in the company Shallow promises - Management will say anything to keep you happy and working hard, but they never come through on their end of the bargin
